MSEAL Beat APS Bomet 2–1 to move fourth on the league table
Murang’a SEAL are firmly on their winning track with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over APS Bomet on 1st February 2026 at the SportPesa Arena, in a tense and competitive SportPesa League encounter.
The SEAL started the match with control and patience, dominating possession and looking to break down a well-organised APS Bomet side. The pressure paid off early when Joe Waithira was fouled inside the box and calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 10th minute, giving the team a deserved lead.
APS Bomet responded with intensity, pushing higher up the pitch and using quick transitions to trouble the seal’s back line. Their persistence paid off in the 27th minute, when Philip Wasai finished clinically to draw the visitors level, sending the teams into the break tied at 1–1.
After halftime, SEAL returned with renewed focus. The hosts tightened their defensive shape, pressed smarter in midfield, and moved the ball with greater urgency. As APS Bomet began to tire, MSEAL found more space in advanced areas. The breakthrough came in the 83rd minute, when a well-worked attacking move was finished at close range to restore the seals’ lead and spark celebrations in the stands.
MSEAL managed the closing stages with maturity, limiting APS Bomet’s chances and seeing out the result with composure.
The victory lifts Murang’a SEAL to fourth place on the SportPesa League table, keeping them firmly in the title conversation. With momentum building and confidence growing, MSEAL now turns its focus to the next fixtures, fully aware that every point matters as the race for the league crown intensifies.
