MSEAL FC Fall to Nairobi United at home 2-4: Fast start, tough finish

Sunday looked perfect for the Seals; 2–0 up inside eight minutes, crowd roaring. Then Nairobi United flipped the script entirely, scoring three times before half-time and adding a fourth after the break. A painful 4–2 defeat that will hurt, but one with plenty of lessons to take into what comes next.

A match that started on a high note, with the Seals leading, took a dramatic swing and ended 2-4, losing to Naibois at the Sportpesa Arena on Sunday, 19th April 2026.

Muranga SEAL FC came out firing, stunning Nairobi United with two goals inside the opening eight minutes, thanks to Michael Macharia commanding a 2-0 lead. With momentum firmly on their side, the Seals looked poised to control the contest. However, Nairobi United regrouped and began to grow into the game, finding rhythm and exploiting gaps in transition.

Naibois turned the game around in the 23rd minute, with Michael Karamor scoring to level the score at 2-2. In the 36th minute, Karamor scored a hat-trick, giving the team a 3-2 lead just before the half-time break.

Despite the Seals really tightening their game strategy after half-time, Naibois remained dominant, and in the 50th minute, Kevin Wangaya's free kick added a fourth goal, extending their lead.

Muranga SEAL tried to create chances, but Naibois defence and their goalkeeper held firm. This was a frustrating afternoon for the home team, having failed to win the last five matches in the league, and now sitting at tenth place with 38 points. The game really exposed the gaps in the team's defence, as highlighted by the new Coach, Dennis Odhiambo, but hoping for better outcomes in the next game.

In his interview, he said, "Attacking-wise, we were good, almost got the third goal in fact, but I can’t say the same for our defence. It is a department in which we have a lot of injuries. We will have to improve on how we handle ourselves in the box and take care of set pieces from the opponents."

The result is a tough setback for Murang’a SEAL, but the lessons are clear that there is a need for better defence to come back stronger in the next fixture as the season continues.

"We didn’t entirely play badly. There were positives, and for us right now we head back to the drawing board, aiming to improve on the same" -Dennis Odhiambo, Coach Muranga SEAL FC.

6 more matches to go, there's still time to improve. Go SEALS!!
