MSEAL Keep Their Momentum: Second-Half Comeback Earns Point Against Homeboyz
Murang’a SEAL have shown more than just flashes of promise; they’re building real momentum. Their 1–1 draw with Kakamega Homeboyz was not only a demonstration of second-half grit, but also an extension of the composure they displayed in their previous match against Posta Rangers.
That earlier game against Posta Rangers was revealing. MSEAL made Posta pay for complacency, as Rangers surrendered a two-goal lead to drop points. While that match ended in a draw, it offered a window into SEAL’s growing mental strength and tactical flexibility; traits that were on full display in their clash with Homeboyz.
At Bukhungu Stadium, Homeboyz struck first when Potiphar Odhiambo converted a penalty in the 15th minute, putting MSEAL on the back foot early. But instead of folding, MSEAL regrouped. The halftime talk seemed to do wonders. Their second-half resurgence saw them pressing higher, linking passes sharper, and probing Homeboyz’ defense with urgency.
The breakthrough came in the 72nd minute, when Paul 'Mendy' Ngugi capitalised on a poor clearance and curled home a composed finish to equalize. That goal wasn’t just about leveling the score; it symbolized MSEAL’s belief in their process, their readiness to fight for every point.
After the equaliser, MSEAL smelled more than a draw. They retained composure even as Homeboyz pushed forward, and while they didn’t go on to win, they earned something arguably more valuable; respect 😌.
For MSEAL, it’s not just about avoiding losses anymore; they’re staking a claim.
They aim to press, adapt, and never yield!
